Dr. Enes Maxhuni, known to his patients as Dr. Max, is a general dentist at Locust Family Dentistry with experience in both Europe and the United States. Dr. Max began his dental education in Kosovo before continuing his studies at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2021.
His international background informs his approach to caring for patients from different communities. He communicates with patients in English, Albanian, Serbian, and Croatian.

What made you want to become a dentist?
My older brother was a doctor and one of my greatest role models growing up. Watching him help patients in need inspired me to pursue a healthcare career where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
My favorite days include playing tennis and spending time outside with my wife and children. We also enjoy exploring restaurants throughout Charlotte and the surrounding area.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
During high school, I enjoyed singing, dancing, and performing. It’s a side of me that many patients might not expect!
