Dr. Wael Zeitouni, known to his patients as Dr. Z, is an experienced general dentist and the owner of Locust Family Dentistry. A Charlotte native and proud member of the Locust community, he combines advanced training with a welcoming, patient-centered approach. His clinical interests include cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, Invisalign® clear aligners, endodontics, oral surgery, and comprehensive smile reconstruction.
Education and Advanced Training
Dr. Zeitouni earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry in 2014 before returning to North Carolina to complete a General Practice Residency at Carolinas Medical Center in 2015.
Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Zeitouni has pursued extensive continuing education in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, full-mouth rehabilitation, and orthodontics. His advanced training includes programs through the Triangle Dental Institute, the Nash Institute for Dental Learning, the McGann Implantology Program, Progressive Orthodontics Seminars, and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

Dr. Zeitouni is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. These distinctions reflect his dedication to advanced education and his commitment to continually expanding the care he can provide his patients.
Practicing dentistry since 2014, Dr. Zeitouni brings together science, technology, and hands-on care to relieve pain, restore function, and help patients feel confident in their smiles. He treats patients of all ages and emphasizes clear communication and an approachable care experience.
Dr. Zeitouni is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the North Carolina Dental Society. His community involvement has included volunteering with North Carolina Missions of Mercy, which provides dental care to people in need throughout the state.

My ideal day off includes a good workout, watching a movie, and grilling around a bonfire with family and friends.
What made you want to become a dentist?
I was drawn to the combination of science, hands-on surgery, and the ability to get people out of pain. I also love the process of rebuilding smiles and restoring oral health.
If you weren’t a dentist, what career would you have pursued?
I would probably have become a restaurateur or pursued a career as a bodybuilder and personal trainer. I enjoy bringing people together, staying active, and helping others improve their quality of life.
