What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your first appointment allows us to understand your dental health, discuss your goals, and determine the care that is right for you. Depending on your individual needs, your visit may include:
- A review of your medical and dental history
- Digital X-rays and diagnostic imaging, when appropriate
- An evaluation of your teeth, gums, bite, and overall oral health
- Periodontal measurements to assess your gum health
- A professional cleaning when clinically appropriate
- A conversation with your dentist about your concerns and treatment options
If additional treatment is recommended, we’ll explain our findings, answer your questions, and review the next steps before moving forward.
What to Bring
Please bring the following items to your first appointment:
- A valid photo ID
- Your current dental insurance card, if applicable
- A list of medications you currently take
- Relevant dental records or recent X-rays, if available
- Your completed printed forms if you chose not to submit them online
If another dental office has recent X-rays or records, please contact that office before your appointment and ask that the records be sent to Locust Family Dentistry.

Insurance, Payment, and Financing
We work with many major PPO dental insurance plans and can help you understand your estimated benefits. Please remember that insurance estimates are not guarantees of payment.

Appointment Policy
Appointments are required. If you need to change or cancel your visit, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a $100 fee.
